My point, genius, is that it should not be
"The Watchtower are Right About Blood"
either!
But maybe I'm being unfair... are you suffering cognitive impairment or is English just not your bag?
... but, they fail to take note of one important detail.. i believe that if we are going to have any chance of reasoning with a jw about blood, this is the place we need to begin.. don't try to convince them that it was only a dietary law.
it wasn't, and they will never go along with it.. don't tell them that saving a life is more important than obeying a law, even a seemingly trivial one.
they take pride in obedience.

mrs phizzy and myself will be eating out, sure in the knowledge we will not have jw's using the same restaurant.. i may have a cigar along with my brandy at the meal's end to celebrate my (our) freedom..
Steve2 - you idea would make for a GREAT video. A large, crowded reception hall where one loaded plate is passed from one person to the next until it gets too a solitary "partaker," who eats and drinks while the non-participants look on in smiling approval. It would be weird to watch, and most people wouldn't get it.

Mrs Superman -
I am a fearless seeker of truth, keeping it all on a spiritual level, in the realm of the ineffable mind.
I am also a dreaded Court Jester. I think.

I am very pleased to announce that I WAS WRONG in my earlier posts about my mssgs in this thread not showing up in my mssg history.
It turns out that there are three "tabs" available on your mssg history page.
You will see:
Topics Posted on by Uno Hoo
Started Updated Replies
I had been using the "started" tab as my default listing mode. When I switched to the "updated" tab, the list of mssgs was re-sorted to reflect my most recent replies.
Problem solved!
Thanks cofty. Were it not for your poor grammar (and grampa) I might never have experienced this epiphany.

It's odd... none of the posts I've made in this thread show up in my history, nor does this thread show up in cofty's history -- does cofty has (grammaticalerror to make cogty comfy) more than one account?
anyway, BOO!
Cofty selected the subject line,
The Watchtower are Right About Blood...
Shouldn't that be
The Watchtower am Right About Blood...?
Respectfully,
- The Obsever

I always thought that when Jesus said "Keep doing this in remembrance of me" he was making a reciprocating wanking movement with his hand.
Have I been mistaken all these years?

I'll be rejecting Jesus' sacrifice from the comfort of my comfy recliner. I'm allergic to the painful Puritan folding utility sawhorses/chairs often found in Kingdom Halls.
I don't know if the 11th is the Memorial, so I reject Jesus' sacrifice EVERY evening. You can too!
I hear crazies are showing up everywhere these days.
having a bit of a problem.
in january i quit a job of 22 years to work at a shop that does screw attachments.
awesome job so far!
Repeated for emphasians:
Be sure to follow ALL of the advice we offer, even if it seems absurd or contradictory. Whatever you do, avoid the snare of "personal responsibility" and "independent thinking," which are simply mental tricks that Popeye uses to deceive the unwitting. Strive not to be unwitting! Be as witting as you can, using OUR wits, not your own!

You are wise to seek the counsel of strangers on the Interweb. We alone have your best interests at heart and we know what is BEST for YOU -- kind of like the JW Elders, but in our case it it not simply a flight of self-serving fantasy. Be sure to follow ALL of the advice we offer, even if it seems absurd or contradictory.

By doing this with complete faithfulness, any blunders you make will be OURS, and we will lose mucho sleep-o over your plight-o.
Also avoid crazy people.

DominosPizza queried,
"You must be a lot of fun at a party. Just curious...how many decades did you spend as a JW before you spotted a bit of stupidity in yourself and became such an expert on the topic?"
What's a party?
I spent about 2 years (when I was 9 or 10) believing Mommy's religion before I began to recognize the smell of bullshit, but I _AM_ a bit slow and also a bit cautious (and rational) so I waited until I was in my mid twenties, when I was a pioneer and a Ministerial Servant, and I learned that the pedophile in the Middle Village congregation in Queens NY had to be protected so that Jehovah's name wouldn't be soiled.
THAT was like having a wad of bullshit placed directly into each of my nostrils, and I put a fork into myself and was DONE.
That's my CV, in brief.
